Shillelaghs were originally used in Ireland as fighting clubs and made from either blackthorn or oak. This version is made from blackthorn and varies in length from 40 to 45cm. Being a piece of wood, each Shillelagh is unique.
This shillelagh has a brown leather wrist strap.
These days most shillelaghs are hung on the wall for decoration but with skill they can be used as a priest to humanely despatch wild rabbits and other small game.
