Took my Heatherview out today for it's first spin. The rain was torrential as Benji and I walked round the local lakes. The jacket unsurprisingly kept me dry and although it was humid, I did not find it 'steamy' to wear. Before leaving I filled the pockets with poop bags, monkey nuts for Benji and my phone, lovely big pockets and my phone stayed dry. Regarding fit, I would say for once there was more than enough length in the arm for me (I do have very long arms). My feel is that the Heatherview will be especially suitable for ladies who are larger up top but with slimmer hips in proportion to their bust. The belt was a mile long, even for me, which I really like.
Things I learned from today's walk:
1) It's great to have a water resistant jacket but if it's short and the rain is torrential, you need water resistant trousers too. Come on Barbour, bring back the ladies' over trouser!
2) Something I wish I hadn't learned from walking through the wet trees - a strand of cobweb across the tongue tastes of nothing much.
For those of you who saw the photo on Instagram, Benji is now home dry and fluffy.
