This traditional brown thumbstick has the conventional fork in which to rest your thumb, whilst the rest of your body toils up the slopes. It is made from chesnut and varies in length from around 1.2 metres to about 1.4 metres.

This braided and elasticated brown wrist loop is a handy accessory for any walking stick user. It means it is no longer necessary to stoop down to pick up a fallen walking stick, as the stick is always attached to your wrist. This tough nylon spiked ferrule is fixed to the staff or thumbstick via a long metal screw, the head of which acts as the base of the ferrule. When hiking on hard ground, the metal tipped spike may be covered by ferrule 3560 which is sold separately (see below).
