Fixed Cheek Thick Mouth Weymouth Bit
fixed cheek thick mouth weymouth bit biDouble bridle arrangements are used to achieve finer positioning of the head. A curb bit (or Weymouth) is added to the snaffle (which is now called a bradoon). The action on the snaffle is exactly as it is when it is used alone, the curb (or Weymouth) introduces poll and curb groove pressure. The result of pressure on the curb groove (under the horse's chin), is a pivoting action, causing the head to tilt into the conventional 'on the bit' position. The Weymouth bit is attatched to the main headpiece of the bridle and the bradoon is attached to the sliphead. Double bridles are always used with two reins. The Weymouth (or curb) rein is normally thinner than the bradoon, this helps the rider differentiate between the two reins. Please note, the bradoon should be 1/4'' to 1/2'' bigger than the Weymouth bit (the latter should be your horse's regular bit size). This fixed cheek thick mouth Weymouth bit is available in three sizes. Please make your choice from the pull down menu. How to correctly adjust the height of your new bit. It is best to do most of the adjustment before putting the bridle on the horse so, put the bit onto the bridle then hold it up to the side of the horse's face. Then put the top of the headpiece level with the top of the horse's head (poll) and the mouthpiece of the bit level with the corner of the mouth. Next adjust the bridle to fit. The cheekpieces should be adjusted, so that the bit lies in the correct position in the horse's mouth, i.e. leaving a little wrinkle at each corner of the mouth. Do not fit the bit to high, so that the horse appears to be grinning. Do not fit the bit too low, so that the bit hits the horse's teeth. Established in the late eighteenth century (1700s) the Eldonian brand is one of the original and most respected names in riding hardware throughout the equestrian world. Eldonian is owned and marketed by Jeffries, under whose supervision only the finest stainless steel is used, to manufacture bits in a carefully-controlled engineering environment. This ensures that Eldonian stainless steel hardware meets the exacting standards of quality, strength, reliability and safety demanded by today's discerning riders.

Lightweight Hollow Mouth Loose Ring Bit
lightweight hollow mouth loose ring bit biLoose ring bits give a more subtle form of communication between horse and rider than fixed cheek bits, like eggbutt or full cheek bits. This lightweight Hollow Mouth Loose Ring bit is available in a range of sizes from 11.5cm to 15cm, make your selection from the pull down menu. Remember in a double bridle, the bradoon should be 1/4'' to 1/2'' bigger than the Weymouth bit. Sizing Loose Ring Bits - there should be a 1/4" gap each side of the horse's face. Hello Sara and Paul. Just to let you know that I received the items that I ordered, this morning (Wednesday 31st).
Thank you for the excellent service and quick despatch of items.

I use a folding walking stick as it is easy to stow in the car, due to mobility problems I have to use a walking stick daily and whilst the folding ones are convenient will look to purchasing a 'fixed' length, more substantial walking stick in the coming months. Best Regards.
