The bog standard jockey skull style riding hat. Just add a silk or velvet to jazz it up or use it bare. This is BSEN1384 approved which means it is more bulbous than the ones we used to wear back in the 70s and it has not one, but two straps, one under the chin and one behind the head.

NB. This B.S.I. safety standard was superseded at Christmas 2016 by the new standard. This means it cannot be used at affiliated events and you should speak to the staff at your child’s riding stables and their riding instructor to make sure their insurance still covers use of this riding hat.
