Opinel knives were created in 1890. This locking, beech handled, stainless steel bladed range is comparitively new. These Opinel knives have stainless steel blades by Swedish steel maker Sandvik. The steel is subject to a closely monitored tempering process, which guarantees you; exceptional hardness and protection against corrosion. This version has a 8cm blade and comes with the Virobloc feature. Virobloc is a safety feature, a locking ring which locks the blade in or out as required. It is great for preventing blades closing upon vulnerable fingers. For this reason it is favoured by Boy Scouts.
