Jack Daniels Brass Zippo Lighter
Product Code: 254BJD428This Zippo lighter is a must for the serious Zippo collector. Somehow the Zippo and Jack Daniels brands just seem to go together. The entire front of this sturdy high polished brass, windproof lighter is covered with a plaque, showing label detail from bottles of Jack Daniels Old No. 7 Tennessee Whiskey. A really great gift.
Read on to find out more about Zippo lighters and why we like them.
Zippo was created in 1932 by George Blaisdell, an oilman who watched a friend struggling to light a woman’s cigarette on a breezy day. In the small town of Bradford, Philadelphia, Blaisdell tinkered away, and built a small chimney around a wick to produce a windproof lighter. He gave it the famous lifetime guarantee and called the company Zippo.
Zippo's first location was a small machine shop on the second floor of the Richerson & Pryde garage on Bolyston Street in downtown Bradford, Philadelphia. The Zippo Windproof Lighter sign originally painted on the multi-paned window of the shop has become a symbol of Zippo's early days.
During World War II Blaisdell, a very smart promoter, shipped hundreds of Zippos to generals and war correspondents. Word of the lighter's durability and dependability spread, and the U.S. government ordered every lighter the Zippo Manufacturing Company could produce between 1943 and 1945.
When Blaisdell died in 1978 Zippo went to his two daughters, Harriett Wick and Sarah Dorn. They knew the business quite well having grown up stuffing cotton wicks into Zippos. Today their children work for the company too.
Save a few minor changes in the flint wheel and case finishes, the Zippo remains nearly exactly as George Blaisdell created it over 70 years ago. Today, the Zippo brand makes tape measures, knives, money clips, writing instruments and key holders, all engravable and personalizable to the owner. The American-made quality and Lifetime Guarantee makes the Zippo lighter a valuable collector's item around the world, with collectors' clubs in England, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Japan, and of course, the United States.

Dear Paul and Sara, Just wanted to thank you for such a prompt service. I received the Gents Chestnut crook walking stick with milled collar and I am really impressed with it`s quality. Thank you so much. My father-in-law will be very pleased with his Christmas present.

I want to thank for your attention and let you know that I received the locks yesterday in time for another trip. It was indeed fantastic to find your site selling those locks. I bought that Delsey suitcase in a trip to London in June 1984!! The sales agent jumped on the bag to demonstrate how strong it was (at the time thos suitcases were still produced in France), I never forget that and indeed, it is strong - 27 years old and still in good shape, but the locks could not resist airport security in Houston. The new locks are now in place and tomorrow will fly again in another direction.

Many thanks! Your quick acknowledgement of my order, notification of dispatch and on-time delivery, made the impersonal internet purchase as friendly and convenient as popping down to a local shop. Thanks for the excellent service!
Adam B., Bicester
Many thanks for your unbelievably prompt processing and delivery, another christmas present off the list!
David M., Broxbourne
I absolutely love the Lichfield bag. I am so pleased. I wanted to compliment you on your excellent customer service as well and the very reasonable price to ship this bag to the U.S. Having lived in England I knew that the recommend of a bag by an English saddler meant that taking the risk of an international purchase was probably a good bet and I was right! So here is a commendation for your website for other American buyers.
Kathryn D., Berkeley, California
Just to let you know that I have received my goods and am very pleased :=) It's like having an old friend back (my other purse broke and I'd had it for 16 years) This is the closest to it I have found, so thank you.
Tracey T., Basingstoke

All best wishes - David
