RAC Advice On Safe Transportation Of Horses

RAC Motoring Services are warning horse enthusiasts to take extra care when transporting their animals.
Rona Parry of the RAC indicated that many breakdown problems are tyre related and described how easily an important day can be ruined, when a breakdown is combined with an anxious horse and poor weather.
Here are a few simple tips to remember

• Check the condition of the spare tyre regularly
• Check that the spare tyre can be easily removed from its mounting
• Always carry sufficient food and water for your horse in case of a breakdown
• Get both your vehicle and trailer serviced regularly
