Hunter has teamed up with the Royal Horticultural Society to create this range of boots which will not only brighten up a day's work in the garden, with their lively floral patterns but: with their traditional calendered natural rubber sole, extra toe vamp for added reinforcement and steel shank to strengthen the arch for light digging, will make gardening that much more pleasureable. All artwork for the RHS Hunter collaboration was taken from the RHS Lindley library. The oak leaves and acorns design is taken from a watercolour by August Innes Withers of a William IV autograph in 1827.The Royal Horticultural Society was founded in 1804 and is the U.K.'s leading gardening charity. The RHS is dedicated to the advancement of horticulture through promoting good gardening and helping all gardeners everywhere.
When selecting your wellington boot size your usual shoe size will do, as Hunter allows for thick socks in manufacture. The Hunter RHS Original boot is available in U.K. sizes 3 to 8 and in European sizes 35 to 42. Make your choice of boot size from the pull down menu below.
The Oak Leaves and Acorns design is a tribute to the English Oak tree. This design, features a complex pattern of oak leaf and acorn clusters on a chalky white background with boot trim, sole and buckle in mint green.
The original Hunter wellington boot which was established in 1856, has legendary Hunter fit and is wonderfully comfortable. Hunter boots are made using an orthopaedic last, they have a multi-layer, cushioned footbed, traditional calendered outsole and unique dipped latex construction which is strong but flexible. The quick-dry knitted nylon lining of Hunter wellingtons is anti-bacterial. There are up to 28 separate parts in the construction of a Hunter wellington boot, each one individually tailored to fit specific parts of the foot, calf or ankle, ensuring the ultimate fit, comfort and durability.
The first Hunter wellington boot emerged courtesy of American entrepreneur Henry Lee Norris who set up the famous rubber footwear factory in Scotland. For the past 150 years, Hunter has been mastering the art of making wellington boots, introducing revolutionary technology, the best new materials and a unique process that improves the boot's performance under the toughest conditions and yet staying true to the principles established over 150 years ago. The ultimate seal of quality and approval, the Royal Warrant, has been granted not once but twice to Hunter: in 1977 by HRH The Duke of Edinburgh and in 1986 by HM The Queen.
Hunter wellingtons are a design icon, recognised the world over. The Hunter boot has escaped the English countryside and is conquering the world. Hunter wellingtons make ideal festival wear for Glastonbury, Reading etc! The navy blue Original has been worn by Kate Moss at Glastonbury. Look out for their new Festival boot to be launched very shortly. Hunter wellies are equally at home in a Manhattan winter or on the streets of Tokyo.
