The Akubra Brand
'Akubra', the Aboriginal word for head covering, has been manufacturing hats in Australia since the 1870's. Now in its fourth generation of family ownership, Akubra hats are appreciated worldwide.
This is actually something of an understatement, an Akubra has become more than just a hat, it is an Australian icon. All the hats (including those sold at Cox the Saddler Ltd. of Chesham) are made in Australia. The quality of the Australian workmanship and materials shows and with proper care an Akubra hat will last a lifetime, so it's just as well the fine styling is unlikely to go out of fashion.
